After nearly three decades with HEINEKEN, including six years as its Global CEO, I recently stepped down and am now on a sabbatical. My career has taken me across Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific, in roles spanning marketing, sales and general management. Working across cultures, markets and business cycles has shaped a simple conviction: lasting success comes from combining strong performance with adaptability and a genuine understanding of people. I care deeply about leadership and transformation and about building organisations that can thrive through change. Today, I’m particularly interested in the forces reshaping business and society: technological progress, shifting geopolitics, sustainability, changing consumer behaviour, and what all of this means for human connection in an increasingly digital world. Having led diverse teams and businesses, I remain fascinated by how organisations create value, navigate complexity and bring people together behind a shared purpose, and how the wider systems around us — from business and government to education and science — shape the future we are building. During this sabbatical, I am taking time to reflect, learn and explore. I look forward to sharing perspectives from that journey and contributing to conversations about leadership, transformation, and the opportunities and challenges shaping the decades ahead.
