About
I build communities, create movements and invite people into action. For more than 20 years, my work has lived at the intersection of culture, communication, community and collective action.I began my career working to lift the ban on gays in the military—which we ultimately did. From there, I spent nearly two decades building an intentionally nonlinear career across communications, strategy, leadership, marketing and entrepreneurship—often in roles that didn’t exist until we created them. The throughline has always been people.I know how to take an idea and show people a way to see themselves inside of it. My gift is in turning attention into resonance, resonance into belonging and belonging into action.I’ve built communities, companies, campaigns and cultural moments. I’ve brought hundreds of thousands of people together around shared purpose. I’ve helped turn moments of urgency into collective action and I’ve learned that reach alone does not create change.People move when they see themselves in the movement.Today, I’m the founder of HYPE WOMEN, an ecosystem built to support women’s shift from individual competition to collective power. Through our salons, sisterhood, studio, shelf and Hype Her, we create spaces for women to build in resonance with one another and actively transfer human, social, financial, political and spiritual capital.I’m also an author, speaker, strategist and community builder exploring the forces that shape who we become—and what becomes possible when people reclaim their agency and act collectively. As a systems thinker—and challenger—my work has changed shape many times. I go where I’m called. I expect my role to continue changing. But the work underneath it never will:Bring people together. Help them see themselves in what’s possible. Show them another way. Because movements don’t begin when people see a message. They begin when people see themselves in it.
