I have spent over 35 years in Financial Services and held multiple roles:* Founding CEO of Aditya Birla Capital * First CEO of Prudential ICICI AMC  (now called ICICI Prudential AMC)* Founding CEO of Prudential’s Asia Fund Management business, operating across 10 countries (now called Eastspring Investments))* IIM Ahmedabad alumnus* Board member of some large institutions in India and abroadHowever, the most interesting question to me across these roles is: What does it take to build something significant from a small base thrice?Not just the strategy sessions that drove decisions but also the hiring and policy decisions that defined a winning culture. Not just the bets that paid off, but also the moments where the path forward wasn't clear and someone still had to move the team & organisation forward. I have been privileged to be a CEO for 25 years and in the position of starting with virtually a blank page and creating resilient, high performing, future-ready institutions.At ICICI Prudential AMC, the company became the largest private sector AMC in India in under two years. At Prudential Fund Management Asia, the business scaled across 10 countries to become the second-largest retail fund manager in Asia. At Aditya Birla Capital, a loss-making ₹1,900 crore revenue business grew into a ₹23,600 crore diversified financial conglomerate and one of India's top 100 listed companies by profitability.The pattern observed across is that businesses succeed because of clear thinking, strong execution, an empowering and energising  culture and leaders who constantly learn and build a talent pipeline for the future.That belief now drives what I do at Maxima Management Advisors where I work with Boards, entrepreneurs and PE/VC funds on building scalable, sustainable businesses.Outside of work, I am a keen sportsman, an avid reader, a music enthusiast and someone who believes that education, health, finance and sports are where we will see some of the most exciting opportunities of the next decade, in both the commercial and NGO contexts.If you are building something meaningful and want a thinking partner who has done it before, reach out.
