My name is Okorie and I am an SEC-qualified Financial Expert (QFE), CPA, CGMA, CIA, PMP, and NACD.DC with special expertise in the healthcare, financial services, and real estate sectors. I’ve delivered financial and operational expertise for more than three decades, empowering legal and ethical Audit, Operations, Vendor, Financial & IT frameworks that mitigate enterprise risk. Named one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today, my financial career trajectory began in audit and advisory services with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC) and Arthur Andersen. My career continued with operational accounting management at Robert Half International, followed by financial advisory services at Ernst & Young, LLP, and culminating in my current SOX VP position with Kaiser Permanente (KP)’s $115+ billion integrated healthcare enterprise. As Past Board Chair of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (The Association), I’m accustomed to leading action-oriented and focused board discussions that support organizational strategy and impel shareholder/stakeholder value and growth. I am pleased to expand my focus to include corporate board service. What expertise do I bring to the table? ☑️ Corporate Governance & Sustainability – Led oversight of SOX compliance work structure and priorities, procedures, investigations, training, compliance processes, and corrective action plans throughout KP’s $55B to $115B revenue growth. ☑️ New Business Integration – Supported the internal control integration of two large health systems, based in two different States, acquired through KP’s subsidiary, Risant Health. ☑️ Enterprise Risk & Regulatory Challenges – Delivered financial and operational expertise that resulted in zero program-level material weaknesses during the history of KP’s SOX Program. ☑️ Financial and Auditing Controls – Eliminated multiple reporting tools, centralized executive and board reporting, and increased data-based insights after transitioning KP’s legacy SOX program to a best-in-class digital system.
