Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

About

Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is a humanitarian, spiritual leader, an ambassador of peace and human values. Through his life and work, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar has inspired millions around the world to embrace a stress-free & violence-free world. Gurudev believes spirituality is that which enhances human values such as love, compassion and enthusiasm, and is not limited to any religion or culture. According to him, science and spirituality are linked and compatible, both springing from the urge to know. He has designed programs, which include meditation, yoga and unique breath-based techniques that transform individuals to live a more meaningful & joyous life. The tools are very simple and practical, which not only brings conspicuous benefits such as health and vibrancy but also uplift the spirit and enhances our intuitive ability. Intuitive intelligence is the basis of quantum (physics) field theory. Both intuition and higher self-awareness are imperative for the proper functioning of government, society and the individual. Through a myriad of meditation-based programs and teachings, a network of organisations including the Art of Living and the International Association for Human Values, and a rapidly growing presence across 180 countries, Gurudev has reached about 800 million people. The organisations’ other humanitarian work includes conflict resolution, disaster and trauma relief, environmental conservation, prisoner rehabilitation, youth leadership, women's empowerment. He has been recognised by the highest civilian award from Colombia, Paraguay and India’s Padma Vibhushan among 20 others across the globe. He holds 6 honorary Doctorates across the world and is an author of several books.
