About

As Co-CEO, EMEA at Aon, I spend my time at the intersection of risk, capital and geopolitics.Insurance is often described as a financial product. It is more accurately a form of economic infrastructure. Trade, investment, energy transition, technological innovation and global growth all depend on society's ability to absorb risk. When insurance works well, progress feels inevitable. When it does not, progress slows.Over more than 25 years in the industry, I have worked across the London Market and global insurance sector, building relationships with underwriters, brokers, clients and regulators. What continues to fascinate me is not insurance itself, but human behaviour under uncertainty: how organisations make decisions, how markets allocate capital, and how resilience is built before it is tested.I am optimistic about our industry's future, but not complacent. The next decade will be shaped by forces that are larger than any one company: climate volatility, cyber risk, geopolitical fragmentation, demographic change and artificial intelligence. Insurance has a central role to play in all of them.Alongside my executive responsibilities, I am passionate about developing future leaders, increasing diversity in our profession and ensuring that AI becomes a source of human advantage rather than human anxiety. The firms that prosper will not simply adopt new technology. They will build cultures capable of adapting to it.I also write and speak on topics including:• The future of the London Market and specialty insurance• Risk as a driver of economic growth and resilience• Leadership through periods of disruption and change• Artificial intelligence and the future of professional work• Dementia awareness and research• Reinvention, ambition and purpose at every stage of lifeThe insurance industry has spent centuries helping society navigate uncertainty. That mission feels more relevant today than at any point in my career. If you are interested in the future of risk, capital, technology and leadership, I would be delighted to connect.
