I believe in the power of storytelling to change minds and drive action, which is why this proverb, attributed to the Hopi people, resonates with me: “Those who tell the stories rule the world.”It’s this belief that has shaped my career as a senior marketing, publishing, and brand-building leader in the Greater China practice of McKinsey & Company, the global management consulting firm.Colleagues have come to know me as the storyteller behind some of McKinsey’s most influential voices.For the past 29 years, I’ve been responsible for crafting strategies that build our reputation as a thought leader and impact partner, leveraging my deep experience in thought leadership publishing, media relations, reputation risk management, social media content creation, and multimedia production.I’ve worked with over 200 McKinsey Partners and Senior Partners to write, edit, and publish hundreds of reports, articles, and books on a wide range of topics.I pioneered McKinsey’s presence on LinkedIn and WeChat, and helped several Partners build their followings into the hundreds of thousands—and even millions.In 2012, I launched and subsequently produced 90 episodes of McKinsey on China, a widely listened-to podcast on business and the economy in China.I launched my McKinsey career on the consulting side, joining the firm fresh out of Wharton and spending two years as an Associate advising senior leaders at global technology, financial services, and quick-service restaurant companies on critical strategic and organizational challenges.Outside of work, I am passionate about writing and sharing my insights on the craft of writing and professional development.
