About

Marketing is the voice of the market, and the voice to it. This is the operating model I've built every team around.I came up through M&A consulting before moving into marketing (30+ acquisitions, three large-scale turnarounds, one divestiture), which means I never learned to treat brand as an aesthetic exercise. I learned to read a business's readiness for a story before the story was obvious, often with incomplete data and no time to be wrong twice.Today I'm the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer at Zoom, leading a global organization at one of the most interesting inflection points in enterprise tech. We're not the video conferencing company anymore. We're a system of action reshaping how work happens before, during, and after every conversation. My job is to make that story land in the market and to build the engine that turns brand conviction into revenue.A few things I believe, and have built teams around: ➡️ Brand and demand aren't competing priorities; brand investment is only defensible when it's justified by revenue outcomes. ➡️ Most B2B buying decisions are made in a "dark funnel" of unmeasured signals (think peer conversation, search, AI answer engines) long before a prospect talks to sales; that's the thinking behind Zoom's Be Found, Be Present, Be Believed, Be Preferred brand framework. ➡️ Trust is equal parts character and competence, and no amount of AI-generated content substitutes for either. ➡️ The best marketing decisions start with the same question I learned in consulting: what does the market actually value, and are we building toward it?I lead with transparency because most corporate communication is too polished to be believed, and I use humor because attention is scarce and connection is everything.Outside of work, I've been running since I was in middle school — the kind of runner who used to sneak the car out before I could legally drive, not for the usual reasons, but to get to the trail. I've been organizing people around causes even longer: my first fundraiser was a 4th-grade recycling drive to help pay for a classmate's eye surgery, and I haven't really stopped since.
